What is WeddingLens?
WeddingLens is a tool for collecting the photos your guests take on your wedding day. Guests scan a QR code or open a private link, upload the pictures from their phones, and you decide which ones end up in your shared gallery. There's no app for anyone to install and no account to create. It's built to capture the candid moments your photographer doesn't catch, without the usual hassle of chasing people for their camera rolls afterward.
Do my guests need to download an app?
No. WeddingLens runs entirely in the browser. A guest points their phone camera at your QR code, taps the link that appears, and uploads photos right there. No App Store, no Google Play, no waiting for a download to finish at the reception. This matters because the easier you make it, the more photos you actually get. Anything that asks guests to install software or sign up tends to lose the people who'd otherwise contribute a few great shots.
Do guests have to create an account or log in?
No. There is no account, no password, and no sign-up step for guests. They open your private link, add their photos, and they're done. Removing the login requirement is deliberate. Older relatives and busy guests are far more likely to upload when there's nothing standing between the QR code and the upload button.
How do I share WeddingLens with my guests?
You share a QR code, a private link, or both. Print the QR code on table cards, the back of your program, or a sign at the entrance, and guests scan it with their phone camera. You can also send the private link directly through text or a group chat. Either path opens the same upload page in the guest's browser.
Can I review photos before they appear in the gallery?
Yes, and this is one of the main reasons couples choose WeddingLens. Every photo a guest uploads goes to you first for private review. You approve which images appear in the shared gallery and leave out anything unflattering, blurry, or not meant for everyone to see. Nothing goes public automatically. You stay in control of what represents your wedding.
Is WeddingLens private?
Privacy is built into how WeddingLens works rather than being an add-on. The gallery is private to you and the people you choose to share it with, every uploaded photo waits for your approval before it's visible, and the app strips location and camera metadata from photos in the browser before they're ever uploaded (see the next question). For couples who don't want their wedding photos floating around on a public feed, this is the core of the product.
What is EXIF metadata, and does WeddingLens remove it?
Most phones quietly embed extra data inside every photo, known as EXIF metadata. It can include the GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken and details about the device that took it. For a wedding, that can mean the exact location of your venue or your home is tucked inside the image file. WeddingLens strips this location and camera metadata in the browser, before the photo leaves the guest's phone, so it isn't carried along with the upload. You get the picture without broadcasting where and how it was taken.
How is this different from a shared Google Photos or Dropbox link?
A shared cloud folder collects everything guests drop in, with no review step, and it usually doesn't strip location metadata from the images. WeddingLens is built specifically for the wedding use case: guests upload through a QR code or link with no login, you approve each photo before it's visible to others, and metadata is removed automatically. The trade-off is curation and privacy by default instead of a raw, uncurated dump of files.
How does WeddingLens compare to other wedding photo apps?
Most apps in this category share the same core idea: guests scan a QR code and upload without installing anything. Where WeddingLens focuses is the part that happens after the upload, namely couple approval (you privately review every photo before it appears) and in-browser removal of location and camera metadata before upload. Competing tools have their own strengths, and feature sets change often, so we recommend checking each option's current site before deciding. We'd rather you compare honestly than take any single vendor's word for it, including ours.
How much does WeddingLens cost?
WeddingLens is a one-time price for your whole wedding, not a subscription. Plans are based on how many guest photos you expect: $125 for up to 2,500 photos, or $200 for up to 5,000. Is WeddingLens fast on a phone?
It's built to be. WeddingLens runs on a modern web stack (Next.js, deployed on Vercel) and the upload page is designed to load quickly on a phone at a busy reception, where signal and patience are both limited. The faster and simpler the upload, the more photos your guests will actually contribute.
Who is behind WeddingLens?
